Collection: AIS Systems

Choosing between a receiver and a transceiver is the first decision here. Receive-only units, like the Digital Yacht AIS100P or the AMEC CYPHO-150, display nearby vessel traffic on a chartplotter or computer without broadcasting your own position. Class B transceivers from SI-TEX, AMEC, and Raymarine both receive and transmit, a practical choice for most recreational and smaller commercial boats. Class A units from Furuno and AMEC handle higher update rates and traffic volumes and meet requirements for larger commercial vessels. The AMEC PLOMO-500 is a specialist item, an AIS SART designed specifically for search and rescue situations rather than everyday navigation.

Features vary considerably within each class. Some units include a built-in VHF antenna splitter so you share one antenna between AIS and radio, while others add Wi-Fi for wireless connection to a phone or tablet, or an integrated GPS so no external sensor is needed. NMEA 2000 support affects how cleanly a unit integrates with your existing electronics. Note that some transceivers, including the SI-TEX MDA-1, require programming before first use, so confirm that before ordering. All units here are sold as an authorized dealer, meaning genuine products backed by full manufacturer warranty.
