The Simrad AP70 Mk2 is a control head for professional marine autopilot systems on commercial vessels. It replaces the AP70 and AP80 as Simrad's IMO/SOLAS autopilot controller, adding a new display and updated software interface while retaining the established AP70/AP80 platform.

  • Navigation steering: Can follow a pre-planned route from a Simrad MFD, Simrad ECDIS, or third-party MFD and ECDIS
  • Drive compatibility: Supports water jet, Azi-pod, Voith-Schneider, rudder, and outboard steering types
  • Control signals: Supports hydraulic pumps, solenoids, analog current/voltage, and control/handshake signals
  • Rudder/thruster integration: Supports up to 6 rudders/thrusters, including dual rudders and fore/aft thrusters
  • Feedback: Compatible with Simrad heavy-duty rudder feedbacks
  • Configuration: Tuning ranges for vessel dynamics, weather conditions, hull types, and work situations
