Overview
For boaters mounting a VHF antenna on a mast, the Shakespeare 399-1M includes a dedicated aluminum mounting sleeve. This 9-foot-6-inch marine-band antenna uses a collinear phased 5/8-wave arrangement with two coaxial chokes to suppress cable radiation.
Key features
- An aluminum sleeve provides the mast-mounting arrangement specific to the 399-1M.
- Two coaxial chokes help suppress radiation from the cable.
- An omnidirectional radiation pattern provides coverage around the antenna.
- The chrome-plated brass ferrule uses a standard 1-inch-14 thread for mounting.
- Supplied U-bolts provide hardware for the suggested mast installation.
