Overview

Managing loaded sheets calls for a block that grips the line while still allowing controlled easing. The Ronstan Series 55 Ratchet Mount Orbit Block combines a fiddle, becket and swivel configuration with a sheave shaped to resist line movement under load.

Key features

  • Twelve gripping faces help hold the sheet against load.
  • Straight resistance faces spread the load to help reduce rope wear.
  • Offset gripping faces guide the loaded rope into the sheave's gripping area.
  • Smooth sheet easing helps sailors release line in a controlled manner.
