Overview

The C. Sherman Johnson Captain Hook Large Snubber Hook is a chain snubber hook made from T-316 stainless steel stock. It is intended for anchoring setups where a line is used to take load off the windlass or secure chain at the anchor roller.

  • Product: large snubber hook only
  • Material: T-316 stainless steel
  • Stock size: 1/2 inch
  • Use while anchored: snub the chain overboard and tie the attached line to a cleat or samson post
  • Use underway: hold the chain in the anchor roller and tie off to a cleat
  • Alternate use: attach to chain in the anchor roller, pull back, and tie off securely to reduce windlass tension
  • Safety note: keep the bitter end of the anchor chain secure in the windlass while using the chain snubber
