Regularly flushing your engine's cooling system after saltwater, brackish, or sandy freshwater use is one of the simplest ways to extend engine life. The right tool depends on your engine type and whether you want a portable or a permanently installed solution. Ear muff style cups, like the Sea-Dog Motor Flush Ear Muff and Sea-Dog Rectangular Motor Flush, slip over outboard lower unit intakes and connect to a garden hose for quick dockside or trailer flushing with no modifications required. Perko's Flush Pro valves and kits provide a permanent in-line installation and come in three sizes (5/8 inch, 1 inch, and 1-1/4 inch), so measure your hose fitting before ordering.
