Faria Beede and Beede Instruments cover the 2-inch category thoroughly, with individual gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, voltage, trim, depth, and engine hours, while Veratron and VDO offer 85mm multifunction and 4-in-1 units that consolidate readings into a single hole. Compatibility is equally important: trim gauges are engine-specific (the Faria Kronos series lists Mercury, Volvo, Yamaha, and others separately), and some gauges like the Beede J1939 hourmeter require a CAN bus signal rather than a conventional sender.

Aesthetics and environment also factor in.
