Collection: Anchors

Holding a boat in place takes very different gear depending on the situation. Traditional anchors from Lewmar and Maxwell, stainless steel claw and MAXSET designs in the 33 to 35-pound range, suit overnight stops, weather anchoring, and general holds across sand, mud, or weed. The Minn Kota Talon BT is a power-deployed spike anchor built for anglers who need to hold a fishing boat precisely on a spot without a running motor. It comes in 10, 12, and 15-foot reach lengths and pairs via Bluetooth with compatible Minn Kota trolling motors. T-H Marine covers smaller craft with anchor kits for kayaks and personal watercraft.

Before buying, consider vessel type and typical use. For conventional anchors, factor in your boat's displacement and the seabed you anchor over most. For a Talon, choose a spike length that suits your usual fishing depth, confirm a compatible onboard power source is available, and check your bow for a suitable mounting location. Kayak and PWC kits require no power but should be matched to hull weight and local current conditions.
